Requirements: Daypack with lunch, snacks, fruits and 2-3 litres of water. We will stop somewhere for dinner. Sturdy walking shoes and light walking clothes (avoid jeans if possible). Also bring warm/wet weather gear in case of rain.

This is the second of five daywalks on the first Saturday of February, March, April, May and June. The pace is geared towards moderate fitness levels and will be fairly relaxed. Advanced, highly fit walkers may find the pace a bit leisurely but if that's what you are after please join us!

The daytrip to the beautiful and ever-popular Wilson's Prom, definitely one of the highlights of Victoria's national parks. It's a little over 2.5 hrs drive South-east of Melbourne. It's a pretty long drive for a day trip so if people want to camp there on Friday or Saturday night that is certainly an option, you will just need to coordinate with us and the main group. Just let us know what you are looking to do.

The day will be in 3 parts, see below:-

1. Mt Oberon

The most popular short walk and view in the national park. "Once at the top you will be rewarded with 360 degree views of the southern most frontier of Australia and what a view it is; Brilliant sapphire waters crashing into the megalithic rocks that surround the coast, the clouds are almost touchable and the cleanest air will fill your airways with the smell of eucalyptus."

* 2.0 hrs
* 5km return

* Medium Difficulty

2. Lunch and Swim at Squeaky Beach or Tidal River Beach
These are some of the most beautiful beaches in Victoria.

3. Mt Bishop/Lily Pilly Gully Circuit

"If you are looking for a challenging trek with a great reward at the end, then the Mount Bishop walk is for you. The Mt Bishop walking track is more rugged than its Mt Oberon compatriot, but the views from the summit are equally breathtaking."

* 2.0 hrs
* 7.4 km

* Medium Difficulty

The plans are to leave Melbourne at 8am and arrive back by 9pm. Full details will be decided at the trip meeting. As mentioned it's a pretty long drive for a day trip so if people want to camp there on Friday or Saturday night that is certainly an option, you will just need to coordinate with us and the main group. Just let us know what you are looking to do.

Looking forward to this one!

Dale & Clare
