With the long weekend it is the perfect opportunity to go further afield from Melbourne to explore somewhere a little wilder and more remote.

This 100km stretch of coast spanning the Victoria-NSW border traverses inlets and rolling dunes in Croajingolong National Park to bird-rich heathland in Nadgee Nature Reserve. Together the two parks are listed as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve and contain more than 1000 species of native plants and 52 mammals.

Uncrowded beaches, rainforest, rocky headlands, coastal lagoons, sunrise at Shipwreck Creek, seals and migrating whales at Point Hicks lighthouse - expect to hike through fairly untouched wilderness, lots of wildlife and beautiful vistas.

The exact sections of the walk we will do are still undecided but we will leave Friday night, drive to camp and set off Saturday morning for 3 days and 2 nights. Returning to Melbourne Monday.

You will need to have some prior experience doing overnight, multi-day hikes, but speak to us if you are unsure.

Any questions, email

Trip meeting is on Tuesday 19th April and attendance is mandatory.
