Mount Arapiles (~5 hours drive from Melbourne) is one of the best cliffs in the world for trad climbing. There are routes suitable for all abilities with awesome ‘three-star’ climbs beginning from grade 5 through to grade 32.

Have a look at the description here: http://www.chockstone.org/Arapiles/Arapiles.htm

This trip is an excellent opportunity for intermediate climbers to gain experience in lead belaying and seconding – a prerequisite for the epic Easter 10-day climbing trip to Nowra! Ideally, you should have a lead pass from Hardrock and have led indoors a couple of times.

Friday: Depart Melbourne at 6pm. Quick stop for dinner and grocery shopping. Arrive at Araps ~11pm.

Saturday: Climb all day!!

Sunday: Climb most of the day.. then pack up and head back to Melbs ~3pm.
