We've been making regular trips to the Lurg Hills to volunteer with the Regent Honeyeater Project, helping with tree planting, monitoring nest boxes and seed collecting. And who could ever forget the bush dances and Ray’s engaging spiels on local biodiversity?

This time, MUMC is the host.
Ray Thomas is visiting MUMC on Tuesday, April 1. The presentation will take place after the regular announcements, so we'll be starting around 7.45 pm.
For our new friends: MUMC clubrooms are located at 169 Berkeley St, just across from the Spot building.

Ray Thomas will tell us about the work he’s been doing for 20 years: habitat restoration for threatened species such as Regent Honeyeater, Sugar Gliders, Squirrel Gliders and Phascogales. The project has evolved into one of the most active volunteer conservation projects in Australia and Ray was awarded the Australian Geographic Society Conservationist of the Year for 2009. But guess what: it was a love of bushwalking that inspired him to self-study botany!

Ray’s passion, dedication and love for the natural environment are obvious to everyone who meets him. So, come and meet him if you haven’t already!

Check the RHP Facebook page for awesome photos of various activities. :-)
