Leaders: Mitchell S
Standard: Intermediate
Meeting: Tue, 13 May 2014, 7:00 pm

Requirements: Have paddled grade II to III before, speak to Mitchell

The Environmental flows are peaking over May 15-18, with 800ML/day released from the dam. This correlates to a river height of approx 0.6m - in other words a good level, on the low side but still fun.

I am working on the 15th and heading over to WA on Saturday the 17th for a 6 week holiday, so Friday the 16th is the only day that I can make it while the flows are high.

Ideally I would like to leave Thursday night and camp out at the put in, so that we can get an early start on Friday morning.

It is a grade III river, so ideally you have paddled the King or Mitchell Rivers beforehand or were confident on the Gulburn and understand basic technique. If you are unsure of your abilities, chat to me (Mitchell) one Tuesday or email me

If I am the only leader I can only take a maximum of 4 participants, fewer depending upon skill levels. This would also mean only 1 car and me riding a 20km shuttle on hilly gravel roads ...

Have a read of the river description here: http://www.adventurepro.com.au/paddleaustralia/pa.cgi?action=details&id=thomsonriver#.U2IXMoGSx8E

For those only free on the weekend, comment belown as other leaders may be free then. Monash Uni Outdoors club will be coming along with us on Friday and sticking around for Saturday, so there will be other paddlers around to do shuttles with etc
