Requirements: Snow camping gear, warm bushwalking gear.

Queen's Birthday long weekend is the opening of the resort ski season and there may or may not be a little or a lot of snow on Victoria's highest mountain by then.

Skis/snowshoes if there's lots of snow, snowshoes if there's a little bit or just a bushwalk if there's none.

Driving up Friday night to camp at Mountain Creek, heading up Staircase on Saturday to Cleve Cole, the rest of the day and a lazy Sunday exploring around the top of Bogong, skiing if there is snow and then heading back down the mountain Monday. If weather is looking bad then we will be camping at Michell Hut or finding somewhere else in the alps that is more sheltered.

Bogong isn't beginner ski terrain and as it is above the tree line can be very exposed in This isn't a trip for absolute beginners to snow conditions. Beginner skiing trips will be run later on when there is a higher chance of having snow. If we are taking skis then you need to be at an intermediate skiing level. Intermediate bushwalkers will be fine with snowshoes. We will be snow camping for 2 nights. The club has all the snow camping and skiing gear to hire if needed.

Trip limit, depending on other leaders and cars available will be 8 or 12. Sign up below to get in line and turn up to the trip meeting on the Tuesday to guarantee your place and organise the logistics/gear.

Trip Leader: Ryan Judd
