Requirements: Previous overnight skiing trips (preferably at least one with the club); confident skiing on touring skis with a heavy knapsack

UPDATE. This list is going to be limited to 5 people, due to transport capacities (we are using local transport from Corryong). Total transport costs around $270 per person.

After trekking in the Park this summer, I would like to traverse it on skis. The landscape is amazing here, but winter can have unpredictable weather (sunny / snow / rain / blizzard)

TIME FRAME. Depending on weather, Fri 8-Sun 17 August (statistically more secure snow) or Fri 29 Aug - Sun 7 September including transport (I want to run in the Hoppet on 23 Aug). Other options can be possible

ROUTE. I would prefer to start in the more sheltered central area (Tooma Reservoir / Round Mtn) and advance to the higher areas near Mt Kosciuszko, finishing in Thredbo or escaping to Guthega. The travel distance is about 80 km, excluding side trips.

EQUIPMENT. Recommended are patterned touring / telemark ski with plastic or leather boots. Skinny skis are better for experienced, wide skis for intermediate skiers. Skins/AT skis are not recommended because the landscape is mostly flat with many short de-/ascends (some longer ones too however). The Club has some skis and boots. You might want to 'wear in' your boots and skis before the trip.

Warm, wind- and waterproof clothing and warm sleeping bag necessary. Night temp. down to -10 Celsius normal. There are many huts but they are for emergency only and (rarely but) can be full, so taking tents and shovels.
