Requirements: Prepared for overnight walking

We are going to the Flinders Ranges in South Australia for a week of bushwalking. The plan is to do a 1-3 day overnight walk, several day walks, and some stargazing.

While the trip is suitable for people of any experience level, it is recommended that due to the duration, climate, and potential for some longer hikes that you've been on at least 1 or 2 hikes with the club before.

It is nearly a 2 day drive to the Flinders Ranges and we will likely be stopping a few places along the way including a pink salt lake (Bumbunga Lake). Once in the ranges, we will likely explore the Heyward Huts area, Bunyeroo-Wilcolo, and Wilpena Pound areas and maybe even head off to Arkaroola if we feel like more driving. (See map for locations) This site has some good information about walks, plants and maps of the places we might go. James is also keen to attempt to summit Mt. Aleck and the tallest peak in Flinder's Ranges, St. Mary Peak.
