Regent Honeyeater Project

The project works to restore Box Ironbark native habitat in the Lurg Hills near Benalla and relies on volunteer input. OXOs have been attending for years to help with tree planting and nestbox monitoring activities.

Tree planting events will take place on August 9-10, August 23-24, September 6-7, and September 20-21 this year.

At this stage, I am intending to run (and attend) an official MUMC trip on the last planting weekend (Sept 20-21). As usual, cars/drivers are needed.

If you'd like to attend any of the other weekends, please help me by organising a club trip! :)
I will do my best to help, but please note that I will be overseas in August and may not be able to reply to emails in a timely manner.

The weekends involve planting trees with other volunteers, accommodation, 3-course dinner on Saturday followed by a bushdance and a BBQ lunch on Sunday.

The logistic is simple:
- advertise at the clubrooms on Tuesdays and get a group together
- organise a car pool or make arrangements for bus travel to Benalla (2 hrs away from Melbourne)
- register with Ray http://regenthoneyeater.org.au/contact.php
- accommodation is provided in the Scout Hall in Benalla (mattresses are provided, but bring a sleeping bag & pillow), or you can bring a tent and camp outside
- what to bring: filled water bottles, lunch for Saturday, breakfast for Sunday, clothes to get dirty in (and to change into), and bushdancing shoes.

cheers
Krissie
