************** TRIP HAS BEEN CANCELLED *************************

The sun has come out, the snow is pretty much gone and now the bushwalking begins again!

I would like to begin my summer season with a weekend pleasure cruise up Victoria's highest mountain, Mount Bogong. The ascent, while greuling, is very rewarding and certainly not beyond beginners. A respectable level of fitness is best.

The plan is simple. Leave Melbourne around 5 - 6 PM Friday night and drive to Mountain Creek Camp Ground near Mount Beauty. Saturay monring hike up to the summit (about 4-5 hours of up) via the Staircase Spur, then continue on to Cleve Cole Hut where we will make camp. If time permits in the afternoon we will visit the elusive waterfall. After a slow start on Sunday morning, we'll come down the Escdale Spur and leg it back to the car to hopefully make it city-side by around dinner time.

Trip meeting is mandatory, and will be on the night of Tuesday 21st October. Remember you MUST attend the Tuesday night meeting on 21st October. If you are not there you will not be able to go, even if you are signed up.
