I'll be running a trip to Moonarie this Easter for around a week to ten days. This is a climbing area I've been wanting to get to for a long time however its distance from Melbourne makes it somewhat more involved to run a trip there. The weather in early April seems pretty good - highs of around 25o during the day and probably getting pretty chilly during the evenings.

The climbing in Moonarie is supposed to be world-class - I've heard tht the rock and style of climbing could be compared to Mt Rosea in the Grampians if you have climbed there before. It is all trad - no sport routes. The routes I believe are difficult and sustained for the grade and most of the quality routes start above grade 16/17. Therefore this is not a particularly beginner friendly trip, you would want to be leading at least grade 16 ideally grade 18 trad, or be able to second up to grade 20 - if you can do that you'll have a f'ing rad time!

The plan would be to leave on Friday the 3rd of April (or ideally on Thursday I suppose if we can manage it) and drive the 12 or 13 hours that it apparently takes to get there. Climb like mad for 7 days or so and then drive back the following Saturday or Sunday (11th/12th Feb).

I'll flesh this out with more details at some point soon, but that it is the general gist of what should go down.
