Reuse and Recycle! Swap Meet & Movie Night

If you have outdoor/adventure/sports gear that has been sitting there for a while but in too good a condition to be chucked out, bring them to the Swap Meet and swap/sell/give them away.

If you are on exchange, or just started your outdoor pursuits and are slowly acquiring gear, pre-loved gear may be a good and practical option for you to find out what ultimately works for you before committing to the price tag. (Yes, we know how ridiculously expensive good adventure gear are.) Come to the Swap Meet, you never know what you'll find!

The Bushwalking Gear Store may be clearing out some old sleeping bags and tents that you can pick up for a bargain, so come early!

Date: 17 April 2015 (Friday)
Time: 6.00 - 8.00pm (Doors open at 5pm for swappers/sellers to set up.)

Movie night will start at 8.00pm. Have a chat with Natalie if you have any movie suggestions. BYO drinks and snacks. Sharing is encouraged.

Interested swappers/sellers should contact me (conservation <at> mumc.org.au) so I have an idea of who’s coming with what and how much stuff and can allocate space accordingly. Ideally, you should be present at the Swap Meet to look after your own stuff. If you cannot be there, you can bring in your stuff on the Tuesday prior and hand them to me, neatly labelled "Giveaway" or "Selling, priced included". Unlabelled stuff will be deemed as giveaways, unsold stuff will be returned to respective members (unless they have specifically stated beforehand that they won’t want them back, in which case will be disposed of in a manner deemed fit by the Committee).

FOR THOSE WHO ARE ATTENDING TO THEIR STUFF:
Clubrooms will be opened at 5.00pm on Friday, 17 April so you can come in early to set up.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE NOT ATTENDING TO THEIR STUFF:
Items can be dropped off to me at Tuesday meeting (14 April) or between 5.00pm and 6.00pm at the Swap Meet (17 April). You'll need to email conservation <at> mumc.org.au for prior arrangement.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE BROWSING AND POSSIBLY BUYING:
Cash transaction only. Please ensure you bring enough money.

NOTE that the Swap Meet is only limited to outdoor/adventure/sports-related gear and equipment. Some examples include, but not limiting to: Sleeping bags, tents, rain jackets, backpacks, compasses, topo maps, climbing harnesses, climbing guide books/videos, crampons, mountaineering boots, wetsuits, etc. 

Items NOT COOL to bring: Kitchenware, casual clothes, vanity items (perfumes, necklaces, etc.), electronic devices for entertainment purposes, you get the idea.
