Great Ocean Walk + Forrest + Lorne: Easter Long Weekend 4 day hike

Requirements: Prepared to do multi-day hike.

Distance: approx 47km for Great Ocean Walk
Cost: $85 (car costs & campsites only) 
Nights camping: 3 (1 at Forrest, 2 on Great Ocean Road)
Days walking: 1 (Forrest) + 2 days (because we finish at Johanna)

We will be walking along the beautiful coastline from Blanket Bay in the Great Otway National Park on to the Great Ocean Walk, camping at Aire River West and canping & finishing at Johanna Beach. There will be an excursion to Lorne & Forrest the day before we start the walk (see itinerary below).

It will be very similar to this trip run last year except we will be continuing to Johanna.

Trip itinerary:

Friday 3th April

9am: Meet at MUMC clubrooms

12 noon: Arrive at Lorne, lunch + beach

2pm-ish: Henderson Falls, The Canyon & Phantom Falls  (9km circuit)

4pm-ish: Leave to Forrest

5pm: Arrive at Elizabeth Lake, Forrest, set up camp, walk around lake (2km circuit, optional)

Saturday 4th April - Lake Elizabeth

8am: Leave for Blanket Bay

9:30am: Arrive Blanket Bay, car shuffle

11:00: Start Great Ocean Road hike

Evening-ish: Arrive Aire River, camp

Sunday 5th April - Aire River

10:00am: Leave Aire River

Afternoon-ish: (Have allocated some additional time for tide levels + general beach frolicking + sand castle building)

Arrive Johanna Beach camp 

Monday 6th April - Johanna Beach

Free morning (do what you want)

1pm: Car shuffle

2pm: Leave for Melbourne

6pm: Arrive Melbourne

Costs [PLEASE READ]:

The cost of this trip is $85 each for car costs and camp-site fees. It's a long drive down to the coast! This does not include your own food or gear hire.

Car costs & camp-site fees will be paid up front at the Tuesday trip meeting**. The amount will not be refunded if you pull out of the trip. This is because campsites have to be paid for in advance and can't be refunded, and there is a spot saved for you in the car, that could have otherwise be given to someone who'd like to come.

If you have paid in full but cannot make the trip, during the trip meeting we will make a waitlist of people who would like to come but did not make it onto the shortlist.

**Payment in cash upfront during trip meeting. The closest ATM is at the Guild at University of Melbourne (i.e. 20 mins walk back and forth), so please come prepared with your cash in hand. There are no EFTPOS facilities at MUMC.
